YOUNG GENERATION IN PRESERVING CULTURE

Culture is the habit of some people. Everything that’s always done by some people in their daily life is called by culture. It is bequeathed from generation to other generation. Therefore, since people stayed in this world until now it still exists. There are many kinds of it such as cloths, dances, foods, languages and others.
Indonesia is the great country with many cultures. Every area has a different culture. This makes Indonesia to be special in the eyes of the world. Many people around of the world are interested with Indonesia culture. They want to study about it moreover love it because of it’s uniqueness. But today, many young generations of Indonesia don’t proud of it. They are so shy to apply their culture in their daily life. They think that it is out of date. They prefer to choose western culture than their own local culture because they think that western culture is more cool and funky.
Nowadays, young generations prefer to eat western foods than their own local foods. In addition, we know that food is one of culture’s kinds. They prod of eating “Hamburger” or “Hot dog” than their own local foods such as “Ote-ote” or “Gimbal” because they think that is out of date and disgusting. It is one of the simple examples.
What should we do as young generation? “Do it firstly from ourselves!” that is the simple solution. If all young generations have this mindset, of course all will be changed. Therefore, to preserve our culture all young generations should be aware to do it and I belive Indonesia will be better than before.
